Training Course for Bunka no Tsuyaku “TENUGUI and Japanese Culture/Manners” was held on Friday, May 31, 2024.
In this course, Ms. Teiko Kizuki was invited as an instructor, and each student tried their hand at making an eraser stamp with a pattern of their choice.
The 20 foreign participants learned about the traditional Japanese culture of HANKO (stamps) and TENUGUI (hand towels), and completed their original TENUGUI by stamping the eraser stamps they had made on their own TENUGUI.
Hot summer is coming, and I hope people will make use of TENUGUI as a countermeasure against heat stroke.
