The purpose of this program is to contribute to the healthy upbringing and improvement of the quality of children, and provides financial aid for children from single-mother households and single-father households when they enter elementary school, junior high school, or senior high school.
The deadline for applications is Thursday, February 29, 2024.
Applications for students who plan to enter high school will be accepted in April 2024.
Eligibility
Those who have become single-mother or single-father families due to the death of a spouse or divorce, or those who are raising a child without parents, and the child enters elementary school or advances to junior high school or high school, those who meet the following conditions are eligible to receive the Entrance and Advancement Scholarship.
- The applicant must be a resident of Oizumi-machi.
- The applicant must support a child who has not yet completed compulsory. education and live with the child.
- No income tax imposed.
- Not receiving public assistance.
Amount of Subsidy
The amount of the enrollment and college preparation fees will be as follows.
- When entering elementary school: 10,000 yen
(This includes lower grade courses in compulsory education schools and elementary grades in special support schools.) - When entering junior high school: 15,000 yen
(This includes higher grade courses in compulsory education schools, the lower grade courses of secondary schools, and the middle school of special support schools.) - When entering high school, a technical college or a special training college: 20,000 yen
(This includes the higher grade course of secondary schools and the high school section of special support schools.)
Application Method
When you wish to apply for the Entrance and Preparatory Scholarship for College Admission, please bring the following documents and complete the application procedures. The application period varies depending on the procedure.
- Application for Entrance and College Admission Grants
- Bankbook or other payee information
- Child Support Allowance Certificate or Child Support Allowance Suspension Notice (only for child support allowance recipients)
- A copy or extract of the family register of the applicant and the child (only for those who have not yet received the Child Support Allowance and whose permanent address is not in Oizumi Town. If the applicant is a foreign national, a document issued by his/her home country certifying his/her single status and its Japanese translation are also required).
- Documents showing that income tax has not been imposed (only for those who do not have an address in Oizumi-machi on January 1 of the year prior to the year of application).
- Notification of enrollment (If you are enrolled in an elementary school or going on to junior high school in Oizumi Town, the Educational Administration Division will send you a notification of enrollment by mid to late January.)
- Proof of enrollment or student ID card of the child (in case of entering high school, etc.)
For those who have not yet received the Child Support Allowance and have become a single-mother or single-father family due to the death or divorce of their spouse or for reasons other than unmarried or those who are raising a child without parents, please consult with the Children Affairs Division in advance as the required documents will differ depending on the household situation.

From January 22 (Monday), 2024 to February 29 (Thursday), 2024, 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. (excluding Saturdays, Sundays and holidays)
Applications for students who plan to enter high school will be accepted in April 2024.
