Additional Benefits for Energy, Food, and Other Price Inflation Support Benefits (additional benefit of 70,000 yen) )

In accordance with the government’s “Comprehensive Economic Measures to End Deflation Completely (Cabinet Decision on November 2, 2023),” the town will continue to provide an additional benefit of 70,000 yen per household to low-income households whose household finances are severely affected by price hikes.
The energy and food price hike priority support benefits (electricity, gas, and food price hike priority support benefits) provided by the township are subject to the prohibition of seizure and tax exemption.

Eligibility 

Households that meet all of the following

  1. Residents registered in Oizumi Town as of the base date (December 1, 2023)
  2. All members of the household are exempt from equal resident tax for the fiscal year 2023.

Notes

  • If you receive support from another relative who is subject to resident tax, you are not eligible for the payment.
  • Persons to whom tax treaties are applied are not eligible for the payment.
  • Households with undeclared persons are not eligible for the payment.

Amount

70,000 yen per household (limited to one per household)

Application for Payment, etc.

  1. Households that received a confirmation letter
    Please check the contents of the application, fill out the required information, attach the required documents, and mail it to us. However, the application must be postmarked by February 29, 2024.
  2. Households that moved in on or after January 2, 2023 and before the base date
    Please download the following request form or download it at the counter of the Welfare Division, fill it out, attach the required documents, and submit it to the counter of the Welfare Division in person or by mail. However, the application must be postmarked by February 29, 2024.

Please beware of scams related to the Energy and Food Price Assistance Benefit for Households Exempt from Residential Taxation.
The government or municipality will never ask you to operate an automated teller machine (ATM) or transfer a fee.
If you receive a suspicious phone call or e-mail, please contact the nearest police station or the dedicated police consultation line (#9110).
