Training Course for Bunka no Tsuyaku “Shuji (Japanese calligraphy) Experience & Japanese Culture/Manners” was held on December 15th.
In this course, Ms. Nobuko Yuasa was invited as an instructor, and Each participant tried to write their favorite Kanji characters in practice and made their own Shikishi (Signature board) and New Year’s card.
The 12 foreigners who participated in this course learned about the traditional Japanese culture of shuji/shodo (calligraphy), practiced kanji characters over and over again, and concentrated their minds to complete their works.
At the end of the course, participants decorated their finished pieces and each took them home to admire their work.
Hopefully, they will enjoy Japanese New Year culture such as making New Year’s cards for the coming New Year.
